I could not actually think of a bigger character 180 than Aang deciding it’s okay to kill people. I mean leaving the moral arguments out of it, the entirety of the last episode of S3 were Aang reaffirming his inherent belief that all life is sacred. No matter who they are or what they’ve done, Aang would never choose to kill anyone. It honestly makes me think Gene Yang hasn’t even watched S3.  Oh, my god. Completely agree with the above. Aang’s struggle to reconcile his personal beliefs with his being the Avatar is what makes me love him so, so much. “Deciding it’s okay to kill people” just distorts his character beyond salvation. (Salvation for Gene Yang, that is. As far as I’m concerned, the Promise is crap writing.) Also, I have a really hard time believing Aang casts Roku off as his spiritual adviser. They’ve been through so much together and Roku is seriously so badass, like my second favourite Avatar after Aang of course. AAAAHHHH GENE YANG WHAT WHAT WHAT ARE YOU DOING
