ACchallenge day thirty

Least favourite game: (What a sad question to end on.) Um, I’m not quite sure. Revelations just isn’t holding my attention… Ezio has kind of faded as a character to me. Mellowing out with age, I suppose? Though, this judgment feels unfair because I haven’t completely finished the game. But ACII and ACB are definitely my top two and that leaves the first AC, which I just don’t feel right naming as my least favourite. So… I’m going to weasel out of this one.

… Which concludes this regularly scheduled program! ASSASSINS 4 LYFE

ACchallenge day twenty-nine

Character you think had the least satisfying death: (Still haven’t finished Revelations, so I can’t answer from there… but I’ve heard death abounds.) I think I’ll go with Rodrigo Borgia for this one. I was stymied when Ezio didn’t kill him in ACII, and then pretty put out when Ezio couldn’t kill him in ACB. He was the main villian for the whole second game, and then overseer for Brotherhood! I suppose he deserved a twisted death for having raised such a megalomaniacal son, but I still would’ve liked the satisfaction of finishing him off as Ezio.

ACchallenge day twenty-eight

Funniest quote/ character:

Quote:
Maria: You should find an outlet.
Ezio: I have plenty of outlets (eyeroll).
Maria: I mean besides vaginas.
Ezio: MOTHER!

Character: I’m not sure… maybe Duccio? He keeps getting beat up by Ezio no matter how old they get, and it’s sort of hilarious. I don’t know, I don’t think there are any truly funny characters. There’s the troll beggar ladies, but they’re only funny when you’re not actually playing.

ACchallenge day twenty-seven

Least favourite scene/moment: Probably that kiss between Lucrezia and Cesare. I’m not that connected to them as characters, but it still makes my skin crawl.

ACchallenge day twenty-six

Funniest scene/moment: This one comes to mind…

Maria: You should find an outlet.
Ezio: I have plenty of outlets (eyeroll).
Maria: I meant besides vaginas.
Ezio: MOTHER!

I must thank Leonardo da Vinci’s talent, Ezio’s manwhorish ways, Maria’s sarcasm and Cristina Vespucci’s vagina for making this moment possible.

ACchallenge day twenty-five

Saddest scene/moment: I haven’t finished Revelations, so my answer can’t include anything from there. (I’ve heard the game is chock full of sad moments though.) So I’m going with Ezio’s family being hung, along with the aftermath. The fact that he was there to see his father and brothers accused of a crime they didn’t commit, and then hung for it is just too sad. And then having to perform their last rites himself and say goodbye to his first love. And then needing to pack up and leave his hometown to protect the remainder of his family… Ezio really went through a lot.

ACchallenge day twenty-four

Favourite non-Assassin/Templar: Leonardo da Vinci, hands down. He’s just adorable because he’s perma-EXCITED. Also, he’s a bonafide genius. And he understands the meaning of bromance.

ACchallenge day twenty-three

Least favourite voice: As usual, I have a long-winded answer. Altair’s voice in the original game I didn’t like solely because of its American accent. As a voice, I thought it was great: clear enunciation, just deep enough (I have issues with how deep male voices should be), and his voice had this cutting quality to it that made Altair’s personality and circumstances clear. His voice actually fit him wonderfully— except for the accent.

So my choice for this one is Cesare Borgia. The first time I heard his voice I was a bit shocked. After seeing him in the trailers I expected a voice that was a little smarmy, but this whiny, spoiled brat voice came out of him instead and I let myself take him less seriously as the main villian. That said, his voice wasn’t all bad. Even though he was a dangerous and manipulative general, he was also, to some degree, a whiny brat. Heh.

ACchallengeday twenty-two

Your favourite Ezio: GAH. I guess… Brotherhood Ezio. He becomes a true master and mentor here, and he’s got more than a vendetta fuelling him. There’s also just something about Brozio that makes me think he was at the height of his badassery. I reeeeeally like the ACII Ezio too though, because he grew up so much throughout that game, and he wasn’t quite fitting the metaphorical Assassin robes yet. The world was so big, and he wasn’t quite in control of it… there was just some majesty in that. Also I would have the best chances of hooking up with this Ezio. AND there we have it.

ACchallenge day twenty one

Assassin’s Creed I or Assassin’s Creed II?: Assassin’s Creed II! When I discovered the Assassin’s Creed games I knew I had to play them, but I could only find ACII for my console. Hearing from my friends/ family that ACII was better than the first, I picked it up anyway. Sooo I played the second before the first. And to be honest, if I hadn’t, I’m not sure I would be as dedicated to Assassin’s Creed as I am now. The first game was super repetitive and as a result I wasn’t nearly as invested in it as I was with ACII. Ubisoft definitely improved on the games from ACI to ACII - the variety of assassinations you’re able to perform with the hidden blade, the hidden gun, the introduction of shops and the business mogul idea (heh). I also love Italy, Renaissance or otherwise. Out of even all four games, ACII is definitely my top pick.

ACchallenge day twenty

Favourite voice: Malik! Ezio! Lucy! Too many to choose from. Malik’s accent and perpetual pissed-off-ness is great. Ezio’s change in voice I really like, especially since Roger Craig Smith does them all. I like the register of his voice and his accent as well. And Kristen Bell does Lucy, who I find has a perfect blend in a voice - feminine but not nasal or whiny, clear enunciation and an accessible accent.

ACchallenge day nineteen

Favourite music: The clubbing music from Desmond’s Journey Part 4. Just kidding. A lot of music from ACII I liked, but Venice Rooftops, Ezio’s Family and Florence Tarantella especially.

ACchallenge day eighteen

Most difficult assassination: Probably Robert de Sable. Jerk had like eight guys protecting him. Assassinating him was a finally! moment.

ACchallenge day seventeen

Favourite pairing: Ezio/Cristina. They were so sweet together, and so in love. Even when she was forced into marriage, they still went on loving each other. Their story as told through the Cristina memories… ah, amore.

ACchallenge day sixteen

If you could kill off a character to bring back another, who would they be?: Hmm! This feels like cheating… but I would kill off the drunkards/crazy men in exchange for Frederico. (Ezio’s just so lonely, y’know?) I would kill off Vidic, but I really want Desmond to get some payback, no strings attached.
