Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of messages that generally go “I like your writing and I’ve been reading for a long time, can you write something for me? [Details of what they want written]”. These readers I have never seen before, in reviews or on fave/ alert lists, but I have no reason to think that these people don’t enjoy my stuff when they tell me they do. The nature of these requests has me wondering if these readers are from tumblr, so I’m posting this here. I do appreciate all of my devoted readers.
However, I have closed the prompt requests (for nearly two weeks now, might I add) for the Noel/Serah collection for a reason. I can’t write the requests and post them in a reasonable time frame beyond the ones I have already accepted. I’ve got 16 prompts waiting to be written and/or posted! Some of them are real tough, and will probably require more than the normal 4-7 day lags Across Historia has been seeing - and this is fine because my acceptance of prompts was pretty much unconditional. I had only two rules. Rule #2 was no uninventive requests for porn…
This leads nicely into what Rule #1 was: that readers leave feedback on the prompts I filled for them. The majority of prompt-givers have been absolutely lovely with this, leaving a review either anonymously or with their own ffnet accounts, and some have messaged me on tumblr with their feedback. Some readers haven’t said anything though, which is more disappointing to me than anything else. After all, by submitting a request, prompt-givers silently agreed to these two tiny rules. You lovely people who do give me concrit, you know who you are.
So, long story short:
With that all said, I really do appreciate it every time someone tells me they’ve read my stuff and enjoyed it. If you go out of your way to write me a thoughtful response, you can be sure I’ll remember you. On the whole, the fanbase is kind to me, even those who aren’t 100% on board with Noerah, and this is more than some authors can say. But uh, ahem, I’m serious about the above statements, y’hear?!
(This was a public service announcement by drinktea.)
Here at drinktea, we regret to inform you that there will be no Across Historia update this day of Sunday. It is projected that there will be only one update this week to the collection.
You guys cool with that? Yeah? What’s that? You don’t even read it? Oh, okay, no need to get hurtful…
Hey!
So as you followers have probably gathered, this is my personal blog. It started as a kind of record keeper of whatever I found awesome or funny, and it’s still completely that. I never really aimed to gain followers, but followers I have. Other tumblr-users seem to be more forthcoming about sharing personal information, which I never really had a reason to do before… but I think after so much time in the community I should at least try to be less awkward? So… I guess I’m wondering if you were wondering anything about me. Haha. My ask is open!
Yes, I really am this awkward. You don’t need to ask about that.
And send out a message to readers of my Hope and Noerah stories?
You are lovely.
Oh, my god, I didn’t think that when I started writing again I would touch so many people. When I get a message on ffnet or on tumblr telling me that you’ve read one of my recent stories, one of my old stories, or somehow, miraculously, all my stories, I am struck with this feeling of amazement and gratitude. It feels so damn cool to know that you remember what I’ve written and that you liked it enough to tell me so.
When readers leave reviews on my ffnet stories, I can only reply to those with accounts, and I always tell them thank you for reading and reviewing. So for you anons, thank you, too. It does mean a lot.
you guys are awesome. i’ll be busy for awhile yet! and if anything new comes to mind, you be sure to leave it in my ask/ as an answer on that post.
Hi, Noerah supporters! This may be awkward, because I’ve never really directly addressed the Noel/Serah fans on tumblr before, but I’d like to try taking prompts!
I’ve written a handful of Noerah stories and posted the links to them (right over here) if you’d like to get an idea of how and what I write. So, if you like my style and think I’m up to it, submit your prompts! Feel free to drop them in my ask or below. I’m open to one word prompts, one sentence prompts, situational prompts, pretty much anything. Both within the FFXIII-2 universe and AU are fine.
Two rules:
1. After I’ve filled your request, you have to tell me how I did with it!
2. You smart alecks who want to submit “sex” or “porn”, stop right there. It’s not off the table - you’ve just got to be a bit more creative than that.
So, got anything for me?
… and assuming that most of my new followers are following for my writing, so I added a couple of handy-dandy links at the bottom of my page to serve as directories. They’ll be updated as I publish, but I’ll still make the cursory posts with the link to my new stories. Hopefully this is okay with everybody!
